Starbucks Monday

December 1, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 8 Comments

Remember my commitment in September to start off every Monday morning with a stop at Starbucks and a mermaid-emblazoned–excuse me, siren-emblazoned–cup in my hand? (See, told you I was doing my research.) Well “Starbucks Monday” is still going strong. My self-esteem and smugness are on the up and up–and we both know that can be fully attributed to coffee chain java therapy on a weekly basis.

Now, today’s Starbucks Monday is a very special one. One I hope you will all join me in celebrating. In addition to being Starbucks Monday, today is also World AIDS Day–a day when people and organizations from around the world come together to bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. In honor of World AIDS Day, Starbucks will contribute 5 cents for every (Starbucks) RED Exclusive beverage purchased between now and January 2nd to the Global Fund to invest in AIDS programs in Africa with an emphasis on the health of women and children.

So hit up your local Starbucks (and the one next door to that one) between now and January 2nd. And check out www.worldaidscampaign.org to take the Stop AIDS Leadership Pledge and discover what else you can do to get involved.

Happy Starbucks Monday!

I never go to Starbucks and I swear there are like 6 within a 5 mile radius of my home, one being a drive thru. This post might just make me go there for one of thier delicious drinks. Thanks for this.

I had no idea that was going on. I know where I’m headed after I pick Tom up from the train station.

I finished all the books and now I’m starting over again. Thanks to you, I can’t get enough. I wasn’t really interested in them until they kept you from BLOGGING, and then I figured they had to be good. I found the first one on sale at Target and was instantly hooked…I couldn’t get enough and so I’m going through them again. :)

I was wondering why my Caramel Apple Cider was adorned with the Red symbol…good to know. I’m going to have to sacrafice the high price for liquid goodness in the name of AIDS for the next month!
