All Things Loved In April

April 30, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 13 Comments

1. Wearing open-toed shoes. Seeing clothes drying outside on the line. Driving with the windows down. Green grass. The first sign of flowers blooming. These are things this Midwestern girl doesn’t take for granted–and all things I was able to enjoy for the first time this month. Welcome Spring!

2. Cadbury Creme Eggs–I nearly tore my new Coach bag apart looking for a Cadbury Creme Egg that I knew was in there someone.

And then I realized I’d already eaten it 2 days ago.

These suckers are addicting and I couldn’t get enough of them this month!

3. Crushed up pretzels in my ice cream. This is the best thing EVER! G suggested it when we were at the grocery store and I told him I really wanted caramel pretzel ice cream (like those Take 5 candy bar blizzards) but I couldn’t find it anywhere! So I bought caramel ice cream, and added crushed pretzels on top. It was amazing. My husband is a genius.

4. Cardigans. A note to all my friends and stalkers: if you spot me attempting to purchase yet another cardigan sweater–TACKLE ME!

5. Saving the best for last–my husband! The love of my life, and the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He makes me so happy and I am incredibly blessed that he chose to spend his life with me. I love you baby!

I love pretzels in my ice cream! Growing up we would eat ice cream at my grandparents and crush up pretzels to mix in. I think it’s the sweet/salty combo!

That’s an adorable pic of you two. Also, I’m only starting to jump on the sweet/salty bandwagon (I know, I’m really late to the show here), so maybe I’ll try it. In college, I used to make my own sundaes in the cafeteria with ice cream and strawberry jam.

Wow! Crushed pretzels in my ice cream! That is genious! It seems so simple, but I would have never thought about it!

I love these posts, so nice to reflect on the good things. I love Take 5 bars so I may just have to try that ice cream treat.

Whoa, I think you’ve just given me the gift of the best PMS snack EVER. Salt & sugar? Where has this been all my life?

I totally owe you one: a drink or my first born child, you pick.

I love these posts — however, my waist line or my wallet usually pays dearly.

I’m now an avid Halo hair product gal (best shampoo ever!) AND I will be eating pretzels and ice cream this weekend. For sure.

Yay for Spring! It’s the small things for sure! Have a good weekend D <3

WhatEVER. Just whatever on the ice cream deliciousness. (Just found out that I am lactose intolerant and maybe, just maybe I am bitter.)

Oh another sidenote – I too have a problem with a cardigan addiction. They are just so lovely.

I’m glad to hear I have so many sweet and salty fans! Try the ice cream and pretzels if you haven’t already–I’d love to hear what you think!

@FC–Oh how I would LOVE to see the fabulous product of you and Mr. FC’s gene pool–but you better sign me up for the drink! I have more than I can handle already!

@Allison–I’m happy to hear you’re such a big fan of Halo! I love it!

@ShoeZQ–Most of my cardigans are from GAP and New York & Company. I’ve seen some cute ones recently at Old Navy, too!

@Melissa–ooh, that would suck. I would probably wither away and die. (That’s probably not helping much, is it?) Hmm…I may have to think of some other delicious salty/sweet combo for you to enjoy… Ooh–I know! Chocolate-covered pretzels! One of the best things ever invented!

Omg! I wear so many cardigans that I’m worried that my coworkers think that I don’t know how to dress myself. Love them!

I love pretzels in my ice cream. Our Dairy Queen has a Chocolate-covered pretzel blizzard-AMAZING!

Also, I love the picture at the end. What a great captured moment and what a great tribute to your husband. :)
