Gold Flower Ring

I am in love with this gold flower ring I recently picked up at New York & Company for only $10! It's got an aged look that makes it more likely to have been dug out of a grandmother's jewelry box than purchased brand new at a store. And it's so large that it's quite the attention-grabber!

Putting on makeup. Nail color: OPI's Lunch at the Delhi

I love this ring so much, in fact, that if it accidentally fell into the toilet--I'd go in after it. This unexpected and completely out of character realization is something I discovered when that very thing nearly happened the first day I wore this ring. That's when I decided to exchange it for a smaller size--and buy a second ring for back up.

That's also when I decided the toilet test could be a good method for deciding on future purchases. Do I love it so much I'd fish it out of the toilet if necessary? If yes: buy. If no: walk away.

How about you? Got any prized possessions that would pass the toilet test?

I'd have to say my wedding rings, diamond necklace and my sapphire ring. I don't own a lot of pricy pieces, it's just not my thing.

Love that ring! It's so summery!

My wedding set & my blackberry definitely pass the toilet test. That's so gross to think about.

BTW - You inspired me to try orange nailpolish, so I painted my toenails orange.. and instead of looking fabulous and summery, I look like Halloween is on my feet. :(

My wedding set, iPhone, tanzanite and diamond ring, my victoria's secret sleepshirts (can't live without them!), and my diamond necklace.

You never disappoint when it comes to fashion. Such a chic ring--it's like something Anthropologie would have but w/out the hefty pricetag!

If my laptop fell in the toilet, I'd gladly go in after it. But then you'd ask yourself, does FC blog in the bathroom? Saucy little minx.

I do love the ring. I have to admit the only jewelry this girl wears is a wedding ring. I find that with a 10 year old and 4 dogs the toilet isn't the only place I would be fishing jewelry out of.

I would like to comment to and say sure the ring is lovely but my "your skin"... so pretty.. you have a gorgeous complexion if I spelled that right. You also have a knack for taking the exact perfect picture to illustrate what you are talking about. Just beautiful the ring and you.

Have a great day. Much love - Jaime

Love the ring and may actually go out and try to find it this afternoon....

My test is the burning building test. What would I stay to collect if my house were on fire. My straightening iron tops the list. Well, that and my kid.:)

My wedding set, my pearls, my diamond earring. Those would definitely pass the toilette test. Oh, and I suppose my glasses too. LOL.

I like that idea, the toilette test. My friends think I'm werid, but I've always said if something doesn't scream at me "buy me! buy me!" then I don't buy it. And yes, goods and clothing speak to me. ;)

Your nails are so hot. Tell me how you accomplish perfection! I painted mine on Thursday and already they need to be repainted. I need a live in manicurist.

PS - the toilet test is a good one. My most recent purchase like that is the hammered coin necklace from Martin & Osa. I loooooooooove it. Even if I sound like a gypsy when I walk.

What a fantastic idea! Once, after we had just gotten into bed, I on a whim squirted a mouthful of cold water onto Noah's bare chest. He wasn't pleased, to say the least. To prove to him that I was truly sorry, I offered to punish myself the worst way I knew how: to stick my pinky finger in the toilet. Luckily, he just laughed and didn't make me do it. The man loves me.

Apparently my black bra passes the toliet test. I somehow managed to fling it in the toliet in a hotel room. I reached in and grabbed it out. I don't want to think about the germs that are still lingering on my hands.

I love that ring big time!

@Jen---oh no! Sorry to hear the orange polish didn't work out for you. What color did you try?

@FC--I hear lots of good ideas come to people in the bathroom! :P

@Jaime--Wow, thank you for such an amazing compliment! You are too sweet!!

@Emer--good for you, girl! It sounds like you have much more self-control than I do. I'm jealous.

@Melissa--maybe I'll do a post on painting nails. Might help! And I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that necklace on your blog. It's so pretty! I'm keeping it in mind as a future gift idea for a friend!

@Erin--LMAO! I love hearing these stories about you and Noah!

@SAB--Yep, it must have been worth it! :D
