Wine Bottle Gift Wrapping

Who doesn't love getting wine as a gift? It's a personal favorite of mine to both give and receive! So for my (pregnant) friend Jill's birthday last week I decided to give her a bottle of her favorite red wine which she'll soon be able to enjoy after that precious little baby arrives!

When it comes to wrapping a bottle of wine, your options seem rather limited--but here's one fun idea I came up with! My friend Steph makes these adorable wristlet key fobs and I decided to buy one for Jill:

I wrapped her wine in tissue paper and cellophane, and then used the key fob to decorate the neck of the bottle instead of a ribbon:

And the best part? The rings of the key fob make a perfect card holder!

It's both pretty and functional!

Love it! Great idea. Last year I found wine gift bags that look like knitted socks.

Love this idea! I have a pet sitting company and our area network has a Christmas white elephant gift exchange and the most popular gift is wine, so I'm ordering the adorable doggy motif fob, so they'll get a double gift - wine & fashion for their many keys. We carry more keys than most janitors!

That is a very cute idea...The big question is...what kind of wine is it??

That really is a great idea.
I'm taking note of that and sticking in the back of my brain until after Thanksgiving!

Long time lurker coming out of hiding here - I love your blog!

(Except you kind of make me feel like a domestic underachiever, but still. Love your blog.)

I am going to steal this idea for sure!

So cute! I am hoping that there is some nice pink bubbly under that bubbly pink wrapping.

Oh D! Love this idea. And what a great idea with Christmas right around the corner!

Happy Anniversary to me and your blog by the way. I've been reading it for over a year now!

Hands down one of the best ideas! I LOVE those key fobs, and such a cute wrapping idea (one of my friends is getting it for her bday...)

This is totally non decor related. I have started running. I never thought I would be a running person, but here I am running and without someone chasing me with an axe, no less.

I see you are (were) a runner. How often did you run and how long? Do you feel this was a sufficient enough workout without doing weight training?

I LOVE this idea! And will so steal it :) thanks for sharing!

So glad you like the idea everyone! To answer your questions, the wine was Menage a Trois red (Jill's favorite) and my friend Steph sells the key fobs for $5.50 each at her Etsy store Mada's Place (link to her store and these key fobs in this post).

@blondie--What a cute idea! I'm sure those were a hit!

Hi Jen--thanks for your first comment! You're so sweet! :D

@Amber--Awww...happy anniversary to us! I wish I could join you in a toast. Soon!

@puck--Good for you! I know how hard it can be to get started, but stick with it and you'll be amazed at how easy it gets as you go! I ran about 3-5x/week before I got pregnant, and once I got pregnant I kicked it up to 6 days/week. I ran 20 miles/week through my 20th week of pregnancy and then progressively had to slow things down as my belly got bigger. At the end of my second trimester I needed to hang up my shoes for good (until after the pregnancy). I do think running is enough of a workout that you don't need to add strength training if it's not your thing. That said, I've personally found that doing even a little bit of strength training has really helped my running. Hope that helps and feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
