Spicy Pretzels

October 9, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 14 Comments

Looking for that perfect game day snack? I’ve got your answer right here! This spicy pretzel recipe–compliments of my friend Kadi–is super easy to make and tastes delicious! I imagine they’re even better with a nice cold beer, although it will be another three months or so before I’m able to test that theory–but feel free to take one for the team test it out for me!

What You Need
15 oz Bag of Small Pretzels
6 oz Canola or Vegetable Oil
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
2 tsp Cayenne Pepper*
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1.5 tsp Lemon Pepper

*You can add another teaspoon of cayenne pepper if you’d like your pretzels REALLY hot.

Directions
Mix together seasoning and oil. Place pretzels in large ziploc bag (the gallon size works for one batch), add seasoning mix, and toss periodically for 12-24 hours before serving.

Hope they’re as big a hit at your house as they are at mine!

I love this recipe. The hardest part is not eating the entire batch in one sitting.

So, they don’t get mushy or taste stale? They sound really yummy but I can’t help but wondering if they stay crunchy???? Maybe I’ll have to make them for next Sunday’s Packer game!

Hope you all enjoy them! You’ll have to report back to let me know.

@Emily–These are so good I think even George W. Bush would end his pretzel boycott to indulge.

@Freda–I keep them stored in the same ziploc bag I use to season them, and they do stay nice and cruchy. I was munching on some today from a batch I made a week ago and they’re still as crunchy as a freshly opened bag of pretzels!
