After my massive shopping trip prior to Week 1, and my smaller shopping trip prior to Week 2, I still have plenty of groceries left to get me through Week 3 of the 2013 Whole Living Challenge!
Leftover from Weeks 1&2:
Lettuce (3/4 bunch)
Baby Spinach (1/2 bunch)
Celery Root (2)
Parsley (1/4 bunch)
Cilantro (1/2 bunch)
Carrots (7)
Red Cabbage (1/2 head)
Navel Oranges (2)
Pink Lady Apples (6)
Red Bell Pepper (1)
Red Pepper (1)
Ginger Root
Cauliflower (1)
Celery (1/2 bunch)
Avocados (1)
Sweet Potatoes (4)
Limes (3)
Red Onion (1/4)
Roasted Almonds
Fresh-squeezed OJ (1/4 carton)
Coconut Water (2.5 liters)
Detox Tea
Frozen Pineapple (1 bag)
Broccoli (1 bunch)
Cardamom Spice (1 jar)
Tahini (1 jar)
Black Beans
Corn Tortillas (1/4 pkg)
Lemons (4)
I outlined my recipe/meal and snack options for Week 3 in this post, and there were just a few additional things I needed to stock up my kitchen for the week. Here’s what I purchased at the grocery store today:
Brown Rice Pasta – $3.99
Almond Milk – $1.99
Avocados (2) – $3.00
Kale (1 bunch) – $2.69
Frozen Mango (2 bags) – $5.98
Tofu (2 pkgs) – $5.98
Scallions (1 bunch) – $1.50
Red Grapefruit (1) – $2.44
Cashews (from bulk section) – $10.26
Eggs (1 dozen) – $3.79
Sesame Seeds (from bulk section) – $0.54
TOTAL for Week 3: $42.16
The bulk bin of cashews got away from me a little bit and I ended up pouring double what I needed (which brought this week’s grocery bill up a bit) but my total for Week 3 came in under my Week 2 shopping trip, so I was happy to see that!
