Kate completed her first session of swimming lessons this month! Even though she’s still pretty timid in the water and likes to have a lot of support, we’re so proud of how far she’s come since her first class. She loves her instructor, Miss Anna, kicking around with the arm floaties on (video), and most of all – riding around the pool on the flat foam animals at the end of class.
Swimming lessons are fun, but Kate’s real love this month is dancing! We went downtown to the Capitol Square during the Farmer’s Market to watch Kate’s aunt Brittny sing with her band, and my usually shy girl ran right out to the middle of the courtyard to get her dance on – all by herself! Almost any song makes her happy, but here are some of her current favorites from the “Kate’s Mix” playlist we created on my phone:
Accidentally In Love (Counting Crows – from Shrek 2)
Atomic Dog (George Clinton)
Be OK (Ingrid Michaelson)
Bitter Sweet Symphony (The Verve)
Boogie Shoes (KC and the Sunshine Band)
Brick House (The Commodores)
The Friendship Song (Carbon Leaf – from Curious George)
Hello (Martin Solveig & Dragonette)
Ho Hey (The Lumineers)
Life is a Highway (Rascal Flatts – from Cars)
New Soul (Yael Naim)
Pumped Up Kicks (Foster the People)
Scream & Shout (will.i.am feat. Brittney Spears, edited version)
Send Me On My Way (Rusted Root – from Ice Age)
Sh Boom (Crew Cuts – from Cars)
The Show (Lenka)
Somebody That I Used to Know (Gotye)
You and I (Ingrid Michaelson)
And, OF COURSE – Marry You!
