Blues Buster Smoothie

Are you tired of winter yet?

I’m one of those crazy people that actually enjoys winter, but even I’m ready for green grass and a little sunshine on my skin!

If winter’s got you down, then this “Blues Buster” Smoothie is just what you need to lift you up and put a skip back in your snow boots.  This smoothie is packed with Vitamin C (which supports the body’s immune system and can help fight cold symptoms), antioxidants (which also strengthen your immune system), and Vitamin D (helps ward off those winter blues).

Vitamin D helps fight those winter blues.

We typically get our Vitamin D from the sun, but if you’re living in a colder climate and your skin is covered from forehead to feet every time you leave the house, it’s likely you’re not getting enough.  I like to add a couple of drops of Vitamin D supplement to my smoothie to give me that extra boost.

Disclaimer:  I love to dish advice, but I’m not a doctor, so check with yours before adding a new supplement to your diet.

Blues Buster Smoothie
2 c. frozen blueberries
1 banana
2 cups orange juice
a few drops of Vitamin D

Blend until smooth. Makes 2 smoothies.

Sorry about that, Crystal – I should have clarified! I use frozen blueberries. I’ll go back and edit my post. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
