Kate is officially a student!
Our sweet baby girl had her first day of 4K today, but no need to pass the Xanax (yet). We are very lucky that Kate’s daycare center is a certified 4K site so she is staying there for her first year of formal education. Same building, same teacher, same classroom, same kids! Her new school schedule is four days per week (Tuesday-Friday) so I’m thrilled that we’ll still get our Mondays (“Momdays”) together. Wednesdays used to be “Grandma Day” for Kate, so sadly that will be cut short now, but Grandma Pam still plans to pick Kate up after school on Wednesdays so they can spend the afternoon together.
All-in-all, this should be a super smooth transition for her! So far it’s barely a blip on her radar, but she did humor me this morning by letting me take “first day of school” pics – although I’m pretty sure in her mind these were “first day of leg hatches” pictures.
(That’s what she calls leg warmers.)
(She dresses herself.)
Kate also humored me by letting me interview her last night at bedtime. Here’s the scoop on our little 4-year-old’s world as she sees it, the night before her first day of 4K:

A: A blogger and a writer.

Thank you so much, Ida! She’s growing up so quickly. And you’re right, she totally sounds like a little adult! I often forget she’s 4. Slow down, little girl.
Fire meatball powers? Best powers ever! What a smart, funny, and adorable little girl! I hope she had a great first day at 4-K!
Thank you so much, Carla!
