I’ve been feeling inspired to blog again, which feels good. And scary. Like an old friend you haven’t seen in awhile and you’re not sure how it’s going to go. Will we recognize each other? Will that old familiarity still be there? Will it be awkward as hell? Should we get some booze involved?

I took a break. I moved, I built, I stressed, I stressed some more, and then I stopped – because you can do that as an adult. When your life feels unbalanced you can either continue the crazy…or not.
I started this blog a decade ago to document mine and my family’s lives. It’s taken some twists and turns since then, and now I’m taking it back to why I started this in the first place – to look back and remember who we were, what we did, and how we lived.
So today I’m blogging. Tomorrow I might not.
I have no editorial calendar, no expectations, and a lot of wine. You’re welcome to follow along again if you’d like…or not. I believe part of reclaiming my joy of blogging means taking it back to being a hobby. I’m no longer interested in page views, SEO, social media algorithms, and how many followers I have or the number of pins I rack up. It’s exhausting and unimportant. What I care about is authenticity, personal connections, and creating content from a place of joy.
Thank you to everyone who has followed along with me and All Things G&D through the years. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have you here. For some of us this is goodbye. For others, this is picking up (sort of) where we left off.
