Well-Balanced Meal?

December 6, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 16 Comments

My dinner this evening has consisted of chocolate covered pretzels, peppermint crunch Junior Mints, Nerds candy, and a cranberry champagne cocktail. That’s a well-balanced meal, right?

Very well balanced. I think you’ve hit all the major food groups. Especially the alcohol group.

Absolutely! Of course, mine consisted of Nutter Butters, red velvet cake, and icing…I’m making truffles. I guess I’m not the best judge, but it still sounds good!

I definitely think you hit all the food groups. And Junior mints and nerds don’t count – the mints are like eating a breath mint (right?!) and the nerds are too small to have calories.

Isn’t well-balanced a subjective thing? I mean, you can have a well-balanced meal of anything, can’t you? And if it all involves sugar, then power to you!

I just wanted to pop in and say hello since I’ve been a fan. I began reading your blog a few weeks back when I started putting my own together. Your day to day writings always tickle me (especially since I can relate to eating sugar packed NERDS because of my two small children). I need to energy to keep up!

Happy holidays to you and yours-I can’t wait to see what you write about next.

Well, you’ve got your fiber (pretzels), antioxidants (chocolate, cranberry), fruit (Nerds, cranberry). If that’s not balanced, I don’t know what is =)
