Cotton & Stripes

July 3, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 6 Comments

Another hot summer day so it was time to turn to two of my favorite things–comfortable cotton and stripes.

Top: GAP
Skirt: GAP
Shoes: H&M
Pregnancy: 13 weeks

And do flip flops count as flats? I like to think so. See–told you I was trying to bust out of my ‘all high heels, all the time’ mode! I can get behind flip flops. My only problem is I was tripping in these all day. It was a little embarrassing explaining to people I almost fell on that I’m not used to walking in flats.

Cute! I love gap’s skirts. They’re so comfortable. I can’t relate to the whole tripping in flats thing – I’m a one pair of high-heels kind of girl, and spend most of my time in flip flops :)

D, thank you so much for admitting you can’t walk in flip flops!! I have the worst time in them because I am so used to heels!! Wedges have become my heaven in the summertime… LOVES THEM.

Happy 4th. Are you doing your annual party again this year?

@Ashley–I never realized how much GAP I wore until I started posting my outfits on this blog. I think I’m wearing GAP in almost every one of them, lol!

@LizzieBeth–LOL! Glad to hear I’m not alone! I love wedges, too. That’s usually my go-to style of shoe when wearing an outfit most people would pair with flats. I agree–it’s a good meet in the middle kind of shoe. And yep–just had our annual 4th of July party last night actually! The fireworks in our neighborhood were last night instead of tonight, so that’s why our party was on the 3rd. It was much more low-key than in previous years, but we still had a great time–thanks for asking!

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!

I wish I could wear flip flops to work! Even dressy ones were banned this year.

“All shoes must have a strap in the back – no flopping.”

I almost cried as I have no sandals that fit this rule. :( lol
