I’ve been tagged by the fabulous Mrs.FiveCamels who asked me to show you shiny things I covet. However–I’m not a jewelry person so my wish list is quite bare. Nonexistent actually. So instead, Mrs.FiveCamels agreed to cut me some slack and show you jewelry I already have that I love so much. So here they are–my 3 favorite pieces! (Please pardon the grime–I can’t even remember the last time I’ve had these cleaned.)
All 3 rings:

First–my engagement ring. The center stone came from G’s maternal great-grandmother’s engagement ring. G had it re-set in this amazing platinum setting with pave diamonds running up and down both sides of the band. This ring means so much to me. Not only because it’s the ring G proposed with, but also because it’s a family heirloom. I feel so honored to wear it.

It was a little bit ridiculous how hard it was for me to pick out a wedding band. Thank goodness G picked out the engagement ring on his own or else I’d probably still be deciding! I went back and forth between diamond bands, plain bands, and just no wedding band all together. In the end I chose this thin platinum band and I think it’s just perfect. Nice and simple–just how I like things. In fact, 90% of the time, this is the only piece of jewelry I wear.

And last but not least–my citrine ring. I chose a citrine stone because I thought the yellow was beautiful, I hadn’t seen many citrine rings, and it’s also G’s birthstone (November). The center stone is just over 4 carats. And because I wanted it set in white gold instead of yellow gold, I had little diamonds added to the side so the color would flow a little nicer. I don’t wear this ring very often, but when I do I wear it on my right hand.

I love the citrine ring, it’s lovely. All of your rings are lovely!
Well you know I love the citrine!
half: “Can I see it again?”
D: “Sure half, that’s fine”
half: “One more time?”
D: “Do you want me to take it off?”
half: “No, no, no that’s ok” (because I might not be able to give it back if you do that!)

Beautiful bling! I especially love your engagement ring and the story behind it.
They are all lovely.
What’s the story behind the citrine ring? It’s very unique.
Your rings are gorgeous D! The citrine ring looks very similar to the one I have with my Grandmother’s wedding diamonds (only mine is a peridot and about half the size
The history of your engagement ring diamond is so sweet!
Gorgeous!
Now that’s some bling!
dang gina! That is some serious bling! I love the fact that your engagement ring is a family heirloom…it makes it have history, a story, and a reputation. I love it.

Swoon! Love!

Oh dear, the way you have purse issues, I have ring issues. I am drawn to them like a moth to a flame, I cannot walk past a jewellry store without peeking at the rings.
I just love your rings, but must admit I’m a yellow gold gal.
You are so stylish!
LOL Half! That was cute!
Kim–no story behind the citrine ring, really. I just decided I wanted a large gemstone ring (but not something you see everyday). So I purchased the stone, chose a setting, and had it set. Thank yo for thinking it looks unique!
Thanks everyone! Katie–your “dang gina!” made me lol!
So you’re telling me that you don’t wear the citrine on behalf of Jill and my birthdays? I had NO idea! G’s bday is in Nov? Did I know that? Wow.
I love the citrine ring! Beautiful-and my birthstone too!
If anyone asks, I will just say that I covet all of your bling! I wish I had that citrine ring, although I dont know the name of stones but it reminds me of the necklace Kate Hudson wears in the end of How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days. I love it!! Maybe you need her yellow dress to match!
SOOOO PRETTY!!! Sorry I was out of town for ages and didn’t get to drool over your bling until now, but Thank You for replying to my tag! It’s BEEAAUTIFUL!!!!!
