Things You Need In Winter

December 13, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 12 Comments

I’ve learned many survival skills while braving years of Wisconsin winters–and I’ve decided it’s time to spread the wealth! The following is the beginning of what will be a series of posts on things that have come in handy for me during those blistery winter days and nights. Enjoy!

1. A full tank of gas.
Let’s just say, for instance, that your part-time job in college is working at a bar. You work late night hours and sometimes—when you need to go back to your hometown for the weekend–it’s easier to make the 3 hour drive after work instead of trying to wake up early to drive the next day. And let’s just also say–just throwing this out there–that when you stop at your apartment before leaving town, you keep your car running in the parking lot so it stays nice and warm. When you dash into your apartment to grab your overnight bag you realize you’re starving! Your odds of finding a place on the road that’ll be open at 3am are slim to none, so you grab some food and sit on your couch for a quick bite. When you wake up on your couch the next morning…and can’t find your keys…and it slowly dawns on you to look out your window….where you see your car still running from the night before–that’s when it’s nice to have a full tank of gas.

Lol, that is a very good reason to have a full tank of gas. I was expecting a horror story about your gas tank freezing and bursting, but this is much more inconvenient! LMAO.

Christmas haircut was good – My SIL cuts my hair, so she just trimmed up a couple pieces that weren’t falling correctly at the host’s kitchen island after several glasses of wine. I’m sure that we were appreciated guests.

    Hilarious!
