The Wine Made Me Do It
I had a glass of wine before my hair appointment a couple days ago. Which is typically no big deal. Except this time when my hairstylist asked me if we were just doing the usual, instead of answering "yes" I blurted out the phrase that likely incites eyerolls and groans in hair salons all across the world: "Actually, I think I'd like to try something different."
"What did you have in mind," my stylist asked with remarkable patience and not an eyeroll to be seen.
"Bangs?" the wine in me replied, while grown up in me still had sense enough to turn it into a question. And widen my eyes in terror.
"Are you sure about this?" she asked, looking at my bulging eyes with growing concern.
"No." I whimpered, squeezing my eyes shut. "Just cut!"
So she did. And now I have bangs. And a bit of a love/hate relationship with chardonnay until the shock wears off. 
I blame the wine. The wine made me do it.

@Virginia--G was out of town when I did this. (Eek!) He got home a couple nights later and just said, "Oh! I definitely notice this haircut." And that was about it. I'm guessing he's not too crazy about them.

Love the bangs - love how they accentuate your eyes! You can have fun with this! Wine is always a good excuse!
I think you look good! I -so- wanted bangs when I went to get my hair cut, but my curly/wavy hair + laziness = never going to actually straighten them so they look decent.

I think the bangs are great. They frame your face very nicely. I often go to my hairdresser and blurt out "Massiomo, I want to do something different". The change is always difficult to look at, but then as the complements start pouring in you realize your hairdresser "and you wine alter ego" know what they are doing.

Thanks for posting about your hair. It made me search for my old hair dresser! I found him! It's been over a year since I've been to him, filling my hair appointments with empty fillers who don't measure up. SO excited, thanks!
