Even though we were trying for this baby for seven months, we had actually been planning for this baby for well over a year before we conceived. One of the changes I made in anticipation of one day being pregnant was that when shopping I tried to only buy clothes that would work both pre-pregnancy and into my pregnancy. This geometric print shirt is a great example. I got a lot of wear out of it last fall (pre-baby), and there’s still plenty of room for it to grow with me now that there’s a baby on the way!

I am ridiculously in love with these red leather T-strap stacked heels from Nine West. You can’t see it in this picture, but they also have little grommet studs up the back of the heel strap. Love them!
Love the red shoes!
I bought clothes that I could grow into as well. The Old Navy stretch tops were one of my staples!
You are too cute!
Completely off-topic, but your blog inspired me and I started one of my own, since we’re currently house hunting and then we’ll be decorating. It’s kind of a mess right now (I need to do something about the design and such), but I did mention your blog so if you want to check it out, that’d be great.
Oh, and congrats on el bebe!
Smart move, planning ahead like that.

I’m happy to hear I’m not the only crazy one who is buying clothes a wee bit bigger in anticipation of getting pregnant in the next year.
Plus, it totally allows you to eat a couple more cookies
Love those shoes!
Those shoes are awesome!!
Aren’t the styles great right now? I got by with regular tops for several months into my pregnancy.
Great shoes!
cute as usual!
thank goodness tops have been so forgiving for the past few seasons! it was easy to hide my pregnancy when i wasn’t ready to reveal to the world in the non-maternity clothes i already had. they are great now too to hide the leftover pooch i acquired apres le bebe!
Oh good! I too am not the only one who is thinking for the future of what clothes I buy and what will fit well when I am pregnant. We too are trying for a baby and really hoping to be preggo by the end of the year!
I want those shoes. OMG. They are gorgeous.

You look so cute and i am LOVING those shoes! I find i’m shopping for the future as well, even though there’s no baby in the works for us yet
Wow! What a hot mama you are! Those clothes will be nice for the post-pregnancy months as well… My belly looked totally preggers for about a month following my daughter’s arrival!
Love that you’re being a fashionable mom.
Thanks everyone!
@Stacy–Congrats on your new blog, and thank you so much for the shout-out! That is so sweet!
The colors are so pretty on you! Your red Nine West shoes are gorgeous. You have great fashion sense.
ok, so I know I’m a little slow on the uptake, but I’ve just started reading all of your pregnancy blogs, and I totally get this one! I keep saying, I’m not ready to start trying yet, but soon. So every time I go shopping I also look for items with a little wiggle room!
