What’s My Name?

April 5, 2010 By Dusty Rogers 19 Comments

I just have to share this picture of Kate because:

1. I’m a mom.
2. She’s the cuteness.
3. I can’t resist showing off her adorable hat!

Kate: 11 weeks

This personalized hat was made by Amber from The Cotton Cupcake Shoppe–the same talent behind Kate’s personalized monthly onesies–and I put it on her every chance I get. It’s the perfect “weight” for spring and it has a little knot at the top (not pictured) which allows for it to be adjustable. As Kate grows I just loosen the knot and move it up a bit to make the rest of the hat longer–perfect for covering those little ears from the wind when we go on our walks!

Now you would think with “Kate” plastered across her forehead we wouldn’t get those, “What’s her name?” questions, right?

You’d be surprised.

The other day a woman complimented her hat and added, “Kate. Is that her name?”

Um…no. It’s the hat’s name.

Seriously?

Very cute hat and baby! Just noticed we have the same car seat/or stroller – how do you like it? I love the design, but some of the ‘features’ bug the crap out of me! Tell me I’m not alone :)

    Adorable!!

My Goddaughters are identical twins. They are five now, but when they were infants you wouldn’t believe the number of people who asked, “Are they twins?”

    Thanks for your comments everyone!

@Kayla–Congrats on your recent engagement! That’s so exciting!

@Crossed Fingers–That’s her car seat. It’s a Graco SnugRide. We went with the green and brown elephants b/c we wanted to keep the “big” purchases gender neutral for future babies, but ooh it was so hard to resist all those cute pink ones! I really like this one though. The pattern is fun.

@Kathleen–Yes he is, that little cutie!

@WineCountryWife–This is her car seat and we strap it into the Graco SnugRider frame for her stroller. It’s pretty basic but I really like it b/c I was interested in something small and simple. I’m guessing you have something different b/c pretty much the only “feature” on this thing is the cup holder, lol.

She is a looker! You crack me up … “No, that’s her hat’s name”. Did you actually reply that way to anyone? Would have been hilarious!

Please stop by Mungee and Me if you have a chance. Thanks!

You do wonder about people sometimes don’t you? šŸ˜‰

When my daughter was a couple months old, we had a blue flowery outfit. (and by flowery I mean it was unmistakably great granny’s tablecloth floral) People would ALWAYS ask if it was a boy when she wore it because apparently blue is ONLY for boy babies and large girly flowers are gender neutral.

    Love your blog!
