Things Loved in November

1.  That it's OVER!

November was filled with tantrums, tears, and vomiting.

And that was just me.

Kate didn't have it any better.  She got a stomach bug after Thanksgiving and closed out the month battling a week-long fever that hovered around 104 degrees and peaked at 106.  It was some really scary shit, and brought me back to the horrendous days following her cleft palate repair.  Our whole house has barely slept in a week!

So yeah.  November sucked.  I'm so happy that it's over!

2.  Speaking of sucking...let's talk Breaking Dawn.

The sucking reference, of course, being in regards to the fact that vampires suck blood.

Wait. What'd you think I was going to say?

It's no secret that I hated the first Twilight movie.  I thought the second one was a little better, although it helped that my expectations were lower. And the third one is my favorite.  I put Breaking Dawn: Part 1 somewhere between New Moon and Eclipse.  I liked it.  Okay, maybe slightly loved it considering it's making the Things Loved List.  But then again, this was November.

Here's probably the biggest thing I loved about Breaking Dawn: Part 1:  The fact that they did not show Edward chewing through Bella's belly to get Reneseme out.  Excellent decision, directors and producers.  I give you +5 points for that one.

Oh wait. The Cullens' face makeup. -1 point
...and Edward's ridiculously bushy eyebrows.  -2 points
Alice looked gorgeous.  +1
...but Jasper still looked like he's smelling farts. -1
Bella's wedding gown. -2
The rest of the wedding. +3
Glossing over the Edward/Bella sex scene. -4
The cool doors of their honeymoon house. +1
Shirtless Jacob.  +2

Total score: +2

So you see, more likes than dislikes in the end.
But still room for improvement!

3.  Something that added to my Breaking Dawn enjoyment: sneaking in mini plastic bottles of red wine in my handbag.

Red, of course, because you don't have to worry about it getting warm...and it matched Bella's red-blooded Big Gulp. Every time she drank, I drank.

4. Hitting my running goal for the year!

I ran my 400th mile of the year on November 14th! Woot!

(And then didn't run a single mile for the rest of the month. Not so woot-worthy.)

5. Last but not least, this amazingly awesome marriage proposal, which will make you smile no matter how sucky your November was:

For the life of me I do not know why I've never thought to bring mini wine bottles into the theatre to see a movie - brilliant!!!! :) It seems you needed it after the November you had! Here's to a happy December.

My friend and I have a tradition of bringing mini bottles of wine into all of the twilight movies-- so glad we are not the only ones! I did not really like breaking dawn, but in fairness it was also my least favorite of all the books. I am hoping part 2 is slightly better.

Guess the stomach bug must be going around. We had it the week before Thanksgiving and it was terrible. You didn't like Bella's wedding dress? I thought it was beautiful! I guess it's the lace--lace always gets me.

You didn't like Bella's wedding dress? Why not? What about the dress she wore in her nightmare? I really loved that one and I also loved the lacey back of her real dress. So pretty.

My sister showed me that proposal video over Thanksgiving. So sweet!

Bless your heart! I'm so sorry The Sickness has visited your house. That is terrible. :(

I saw BD just yesterday. :/ I agree with you 100%, except I really liked her wedding dress. It reminded me of mine, minus the lace-to-the-buttcrack thing she had going on!

Note to self about the mini-bottles (I used to do that on airplane rides back in the day). I've snuck plenty of food into theaters--for someone who also loves her wine, I can't believe I didn't think about this.

Good For YOU on the mileage. So happy for you and proud of you.

That proposal caused me to BURST into tears. When he jumped out to start dancing and it showed her hand go to her mouth, I am pretty sure my hand went to my mouth at the exact same moment and the happy tears started flowing too.

Here's to a barf-free December.

I liked the back view of Bella's dress, but didn't really care for the front. I think it was those seams--they just didn't do it for me.

@Briel--I don't remember the dress from her nightmare. I'll have to pay attention next time I watch it.

@Simply Kelly--I think Part 2 will be!

@jbhat--Such a tear-jerker, I KNOW! I've watched it probably a dozen times now and still get choked up over it. Best proposal ever.

Have you ever blogged about G's proposal? If not you should!!

@Lindsey--No, I don't think I ever have. That's a great idea!
