I’ve never had an issue with my age–in fact, I’ve embraced it. Every birthday is another year closer to 30–an age I can’t wait to be. I look forward to being in my 30’s as I’ve decided by then I’ll surely be an adult and no longer feel odd referring to myself as a “woman” while wondering if I should have said “girl.”
Now oddly enough, here’s the thing I haven’t factored in as the candles on my cake increase by 1 each year: wrinkles. I’ve been looking forward to increased maturity, learning from life experiences, a 9pm bedtime, and shopping at Banana Republic—all the benefits of getting older. But somehow through it all I’ve lost sight of my laugh lines. And where the hell did these forehead wrinkles come from? I feel like I just woke up one morning and they were there! I’m not gonna lie–I’m so vain I do think that song is about me. Besides, I have enough of the 7 deadly sins covered already that I’m not about to start pumping the brakes when it comes to vanity.
So in my quest for ridding my forehead of these train tracks whilst saving up for my next trip to Banana, I turned to Oil of Olay. They have a feature on their website called Olay for You where I entered my information and they tell me what to buy. Takes the guess work right out of it. My kinda site as I’ve yet to learn from any life experiences involving eye cream. So list in hand I head to Target (I haven’t been black-listed yet) and pick up my wrinkle-free creams. Based on the selection in the Olay aisle alone I’m already feeling better about myself. Of the hundreds of products on display the friendly female voice from the Olay for You website informed me I only needed two. Fabulous.
So I’ve been using my products for about a month now and I’m already enjoying the benefits. I got ID’d at a bar the other night–the adult equivalent of the kindergarten gold star. I got my ego boost, the bartender got a nice tip, and I was home and in bed by 10pm–so close!

i love that…thanks for sharing. I guess we all go through the same battles in our heads. I have been feeling the same way.
This is great!!! carded…oh to have that happen AGAIN!!! I might just have to give this stuff a whirl…THANKS
I’m right there with you on the wrinkles, except I hit 30, oh, a while ago. (Don’t forget to hydrate your skin with a toner.)

Well being 32 I have to say don’t rush for your 30’s. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy every age but I just choose not to rush because it is a fact that with every year that passes something shows up to remind us that we are older… A couple Gray hairs. A few more wrinkles. A couple extra pounds. LOL. Hope you have a great Monday. Jaime
Haha, that’s hilarious (the bartender part). I’m right there with you. I feel odd using anti-aging creams at the young age of 26, but I don’t want those wrinkles to get any worse!
I was using oil of olay just last week until my dermatologist told me to stop it and stop it now. She said that it is great for some people, but if you have any type of oily skin that it can cause these little oil bumps to come up on your skin…and the worst part…there is no cure for them as of yet. I unfortunately have some now… Anyways, just thought I’d share that bit of information. You may be fine considering your skin type.
@Amber–I’ve never heard of that before, but that’s interesting. I’m sorry to hear you got the bumps.
Luckily I haven’t had any problems at all.
@jbhat–Wait. I should be using toner?? Dammit! The friendly female voice on the website neglected to tell me that. Then again, it was a year ago that I took their little survey. Might be time to do it again!
Of all the little tidbits mama should’ve told me about….the fact that wrinkles sneak up on you. Thus my excuse for bangs. I did however get asked on Friday evening if I was the “mom” to my 25yr old friend. Ouch. I need a fire extinguisher! That burned. Although the guy had been drinking since like 9am. Enjoy the benefits of early wrinkle-prevention and treatment. I may take a stroll down that isle myself.
