“Why is that?” I asked, knowing a request like this would have been given some thought.
“Because Dad’s…,” she started, patting at her cheeks, searching for the right words.
“His….rough,” she continued, patting her face.
“That rough…you know that rough stuff on his cheeks? His ruffles!” she declared.
“The ruffles on Daddy’s cheeks hurt my face when he gives me kisses.”
Happy Father’s Day to the man who keeps a clean-shaven face so he can smother his daughter in kisses. We are both so lucky to have you – “ruffles” and all!
