Reunited and It Feels So Good

October 13, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 17 Comments

Hello Starbucks, my love. I have returned. Fall has arrived and I just cannot stay away from your delicious, steamy, pumpkin spice lattes. I told you I’d be back after we temporarily parted ways last spring, and I meant it. Thank you for waiting for me, Starbucks. Thank you!

Wait.

What’s wrong?

What are you looking at??

Dammit, I should have used the drive-thru!

Okay, okay, I confess. I have some explaining to do. I realize I may look a little bit…um…different from the last time we saw each other. We were on a break and you took it well and waited for me just like I had requested. I, on the other hand, got knocked up.

Hey, it happens!

The bad news is it’s not yours. The good news is I won’t be going after you for child support payments and stock options. And while my current condition may lead you to believe I did not hold up my end of the bargain, I assure you that no other coffee shop caught my eye during our hiatus. (Unless it had the only bathroom in sight, in which case I promise I only looked–never touched!)

So let’s pick up where we left off, shall we? Give me my pumpkin spice latte–and hell yes add the whipped cream (baby needs dairy). I promise you in no time we’ll be back to our old routine and you’ll forget all about that time I left you for six months and came back pregnant with someone else’s child.

Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, bring it on. Woot! Woot!

Hey, have you been cheating on me my little Latte? You have some explaining to do! Oh no, no, wait, mine has no whip. Phew, I thought I might have to kick some Latte butt there for a sec. Hehe 😉

    Enjoy your Lattes!

    LOL… that’s too funny!

I actually try to stay away from Starbucks these days since my husband is still blaming all the caramel frappuccinos I had during my 2nd pregnancy for the acctive child we have now 😉 Although I really doubt his theory 😉

But I’m not too good at avoiding it ever since he wanted me to pick up a pumpkin spice latte for him and I took a sip on the way back home. I could have it literally once a day 😉 I’m trying to get it without the whip cream… well… trying 😉 it doesn’t always work out! :-)

A few nights ago we were walking by Starbucks when I saw the Pumpkin Spice banner. Last year on D+R (when I had time to hang out on D+R) the girls were always going on about Pumpkin Spice Latte, so I went in and got one. I know, the LAST PERSON ON EARTH to try one and…the only person on Earth who didn’t like it. I think I was expecting pumpkin. I couldn’t finish it. Sacrilege I know. Oh well, more for you! =)

    Thanks for your comments everyone!

@The Johnson’s–I hope your husband’s theory isn’t true or I may be in trouble, lol!

@Rachel–Oh how I wish I would have been with you when that happened. I would’ve happily finished it for you, girl!
