Thoughts & Prayers

November 9, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 17 Comments

You all know I like to keep things light around here, but tonight I need to post about something very serious. Earlier today I received an email from a reader of mine named Susan. Susan went into premature labor yesterday at only 24 weeks pregnant. She is currently in the hospital on bed rest, and is still having contractions. As many of you know, 24 weeks is extremely early for delivery. Please join me in keeping Susan, her baby, and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Every day that passes increases the survival rate for her precious baby and I am very hopeful that her impatient little one will wait at least a little bit longer to say hello. Thank you everyone.

That is very frightening, hopefully with all of the medical care she will be getting, she will be able to contain her little one for quite a bit longer, I don’t know her but my thoughts will certainly be with her and her family, God Bless!

Wow! Very scary for Susan. I am 24 weeks also and I fell in the bathroom today. Her reality was my biggest nightmare today…I will say my prayers that her baby will hold off on meeting mommy for a few more weeks. Many Blessings Susan.

I want to thank D and everyone else for their prayers. Every day is a struggle and it’s counts for the baby’s development. I know with the power of prayer that we can fight this and hope for the best. Again thanks everyone.

Hi everyone–sorry for not posting an update sooner. As you can imagine things have been rather hectic for Susan, but I have received an update. She gave birth to her beautiful son William on November 13th. He weighed 750 grams (approximately 1.65 pounds) at birth. Susan reports that “he is a fighter.” It has been a rollercoaster for them as he will be doing great one week and then have set-backs the next. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers and I will continue to provide updates as I receive them. Thanks everyone!

I’ll definitely be praying! But, I’m also confused. The posts says it’s from today but all the earlier comments say November 2009. Am I lost or going crazy??

    Hi D-
I wanted to pass along my cousin Hillary’s blog: http://thepittstop-pittfamily.blogspot.com/ for you to share for your friend.
Hillary spent many, many weeks on bed rest and did end up having her little girl quite early.
Tatum is now home with her parents and thriving. I will pray for a similar outcome for your friends!

On a sidenote, I’ve been following your blog for some time – thanks for sharing such great posts!
