I Did It!

August 20, 2011 By Dusty Rogers 28 Comments

Four years ago, I started my first half marathon…and today I finally finished it.

Never give up on your goals!

After the race, with my finisher’s medal.

Congrats!!! I’ve done a few half marathons, but I have never run the whole way… I usually do them with my mom, and we try to finish in under 3 hours :-) I have been wanting to run a half marathon just to see if I could do it – I bet you felt awesome at the finish line!!

Congrats! I finished C25K a few weeks ago and have kept up with running 3 miles a few days a week. I hope to run a 5K, a 10K, and eventually a half marathon.

Congrats!!…not only on the 1/2 marathon, but you look fantastic! I’m hoping to run the 1/2 marathon in Madison in the spring to help get my pre-baby body back. The belly is still pretty flab…but it hasn’t even been a month yet…so I should probably give it some time. I am very jealous that you 1) get to run and 2) look so fab doing it!

Thank you SO MUCH everyone! Your sweet comments are the cherry on my sundae after such an unforgettable experience on Saturday.

@Kate–I’m sure you could! Especially considering you’ve already got a darn good idea of what 13.1 miles looks like.

@Angela–Good for you; that’s so great!

@payettestork–Yes, it feels incredible! I ran the Madison Mini half marathon in Madison, WI. It was a great race; I’d definitely recommend it!

@slechr–My shorts are from Nike. I got them online (www.nike.com). They’re my favorites!

Thank you Ann Marie! Training for a half is certainly a good way to get back in shape. I have no doubt you’ll look fantastic in no time. And congrats to you!
