Even though my little patch of grass in Wisconsin is still covered in snow, I’ve heard rumors that spring has sprung, so it’s time to celebrate with a Spring Home Tour and a fabulous giveaway from Kirkland’s! I don’t typically do a spring home tour post, but a few things happened this lion-like March to change my mind:
- The lovely Jen Migonis from Migonis Home invited me to be one of 25 fabulous bloggers on her Spring Home Tours blog hop.
- I stepped into a Kirkland’s for the first time and wanted to buy all the things.
- I shared last spring that G and I had set the wheels in motion to find our next house – our “forever home” – and the time has come! Soon we’ll be packing up boxes and saying goodbye to this house we’ve called our home for the past 9 years, so I thought it was only fitting to dress her up one last time for some final photos.
Welcome to our spring home!
Things can get a little dark and heavy in here with G’s massive man TV taking center stage in the living room, so I lightened it up with some pillows, spring flowers, and a light colored throw draped over the ottoman.
The other side of our living room, looking into our kitchen:
I made this easy spring floral arrangement from a large glass lantern and floral filler found at Kirkland’s – I love this lantern so much I bought two of them! (See the second one below in our kitchen.) The geometric wooden vase and faux eucalyptus filler, and porcelain bird are all from Target.
Fun with more spring flowers in the kitchen:
Another Kirkland’s obsession – this mason jar candle runner which I filled with fresh hydrangeas and used as an island centerpiece:
Fresh tulips, my other large glass lantern from Kirkland’s with a faux floating water lily inside, and a preserved boxwood topiary arrangement (also from Kirkland’s) that promises to be nearly impossible to kill. (We’ll see how my black thumb does!)
The eat-in section of our kitchen:
To make this centerpiece I took branches I had spray-painted white, and glued the blossoms of faux dollar store flowers to them:
Kate fell in love with this cute little golden-eared bunny from Target, so we had to find a spot for her in our spring home as well. She goes beautifully with our new gold sphere from Kirkland’s.
Thank you so much for joining me on my very first Spring Home Tour! Please take a moment to check out the fabulous bloggers that are part of this home tour with me, and make sure to enter below for a chance to win one of THREE $100 gift cards from Kirkland’s!

Thank you so much, Jen! And thank you again for organizing the tour – so fun to see and be inspired by so many gorgeous homes!
Love it all, hooker! I’m so excited for you with the new move!
LOL! You could have commented as “anonymous” I still would’ve known it was you. Thanks, girl! Getting ready to pop over to see yours. (In person, not via the internet.) Better chill the tequila!
Gorgeous tour! I am in love with that mason jar runner. So fun to be on this tour with you. Good luck with the new home search/move!
Thank you so much, Sarah! The mason jar runner is such a treasure. Can’t wait to have it on display in our next home!
Your home looks beautiful! Love all the fresh flowers, those lanterns, and that gold sphere. Can’t wait to hear all about your forever home when you move!
Thank you so much, Erin! Looking forward to sharing more details about our move soon. Hope you’re well and all of those handsome boys are treating you well!
Is your home pillow from Kirkland’s? I am in Wisconsin native and love pieces that remind me of home.
Hi Samantha! Yes, it’s from Kirkland’s as well – so many great finds there!
Everything looks wonderful, Dusty! Now if Mother Nature could get the hint and send us some great weather.
Thank you, Kim! And I agree. Poor Kate is trying so hard to put her winter coat away for a few months, but we’re just not quite there yet. Yesterday she was all, “What if I wear TWO long-sleeved shirts…then can I just wear my spring jacket? Or just my vest?” Girlfriend is over it.
Beautiful Dusty – everything looks so fresh and crisp and ready for spring!! I love that series of hydrangea blooms!!
Thank you so much, Krista!
You have a very beautiful home, thank you for sharing! I love the flowers in the jars.
I invite you to come share this and link up with me now at http://www.wrightsimply.com/2015/03/wordless-wednesday-link-up.html
Have a wonderful weekend! xx Ashleigh @SimplyWright

You’re so sweet – thank you, Jamie!
It’s just lovely, Dusty! I’d never guess there was still snow on the ground outside. 😉 Congratulations and good luck with the upcoming home search!
Thank you, Rachel! We are now down to one teeny tiny patch of snow in our front yard, but I see the greens of our tulips starting to pop up around our mailbox, so our spring has almost sprung!
You have such an adorable home! I Love the shape of your windows in your living room! So unique, but gives the space so much character!
I was featured with you on the Farmhouse Roundup at The 36th Avenue blog and so happy I found your blog!!
I would love to invite you over to Totally Terrific Tuesday on my blog and join the party! I think your blog is amazing and you are so talented!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter!
