Parade of Homes–Neat Sliding Doors

September 18, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 16 Comments

This gorgeous 2008 Parade of Homes home–built by Duren Custom Builders–is located in the Bristol Gardens neighborhood outside of Sun Prairie, WI. At 4,500 square feet, this home includes custom built cabinets, painted woodwork, hardwood flooring throughout, soapstone and wood counter tops in the kitchen, a morning room complete with fireplace, another fireplace located in a covered porch leading to a deck, a THIRD fireplace in the master bedroom suite, first floor laundry/craft room, custom bar in the family room, and a theater room and dance room in the lower level.

This entryway was almost bigger than my living room! And it had a clean view straight out to the 3 season porch, complete with wood burning fireplace. (Be sure to look past the plastic covering the gorgeous hardwood floors for protection.)

Formal dining room, located to the left of the entryway:

Beautiful kitchen, complete with custom cabinetry (note the darker colored island), soapstone counter tops, and butcher block topped island.

Built-in breakfast nook in the kitchen and beautiful pendant lighting.

Butler’s Pantry (I love these!) between the kitchen and the formal dining room:

One of my favorite features of this house–this hall closet (located just off the kitchen) had a gorgeous sliding wood door on a rail.

Upstairs loft/office space/sitting area:

Adorable girl’s room:

Lower level rec room had a pool table area, wet bar, and then 2 huge sliding “barn” doors that opened behind the bar to the theatre room. It was really neat! (Baby for your hip not included.)

Close-up of those gorgeous red doors leading into the theatre room:

Beautiful lighting over the pool table:

This main level laundry room/mudroom/craft room was out of control. It was absolutely huge, and so beautiful! I loved the two pendant lights over the island. Throw a stove in this space and it could’ve easily been the kitchen!

I’m salivating over the doors in the home, as well as the dining room, which had my name written all over it. I wish I had a craft room!

As for the soapstone, though, I am unimpressed. I am all about the granite, baby. My step mom has soapstone and while she paid a fortune for it, I can’t help but think it looks cheap. Don’t hate me!

Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous home… I cannot even pick a favorite part. It’s all gorgeous, and those red barn doors (drooling). So, I guess I picked my favorite part.

Can you imagine cleaning 4,500 sq.ft. of space???? That is a lot of swiffers.

How did I miss these last couple posts? I love the butler’s pantry – I’m partial to the wine rack because I’m partial to wine and like to have plenty of it on hand at all times.

I really love the sliding doors. We’re thinking of getting something like that for our office, which doesn’t have a door currently. It would be easier than installing a pocket door, and would look really cool (I think).

Hi from Angie. I love your sliding barn doors in the media room, as everyone else does. I have found many websites with pictures, but am having difficulty finding vendors. Will you share info. on where you purchased them from.. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Angie–As much as I’d love to claim this house as my own, it’s actually a “Parade of Homes” home that I had the pleasure of touring last year. Which means unfortunately I have no idea where the sliding doors are from. But if you click on the link at the top of the post, you’ll be directed to a page with this home’s builder’s contact information and I’m sure they’d be happy to help you out. Good luck!
