8 More Random Things About Me

November 14, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 9 Comments

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been tagged by Jess from The Everyday Adventures of Me in the City, Mrs. McB at Living My Happily Ever After, and Canridings at What Can I Say, This Is Me… to tell you some more random, but true, things about me. The tags ranges from 6-10 things, so I came up with 8 (a nice even middle) and here they are:

1. I hate clapping my hands. I don’t know what it is, but it’s just not something I like doing. Something has to be really entertaining for me to clap for it.

2. When using a public restroom I always wipe the seat off with toilet paper before I sit down. Even if it looks perfectly clean, I don’t care. I still gotta do it. One–because you just never know. And two–to make sure I have toilet paper in my stall before I unbutton.

3. I don’t care if you do pull up next to me while I’m stopped at a red light belting out my favorite Poison song–I’ll just keep on singing. Go ahead and watch; I’m not embarrassed. Does your bad haircut and “honor student” bumper sticker embarrass you? To each her own, lady. Now get back to your NPR and 10 & 2 grip–Kid Rock is coming up next.

4. I refuse to look at people when they’re pulled over on the side of the road by police. Needing to pull over to the side of the road is rarely a good thing. But add those flashing red and blue lights behind you and it’s all-out humiliation. So I avoid stealing a glance at those poor, embarrassed drivers out of respect. Well, that–and I’m trying to bank some good karma. Got to get it where I can.

5. I took this personality test and discovered I have an ENFJ personality, also known as a “teacher” personality. Although I don’t think of myself as a “teacher” in the typical sense of the word, I’m a fan of the flattering description. Especially after reading that only 2% of the population has my personality type–one of them being Oprah. Yeah, that’s right. Oprah and I are practically related. Essentially one person, if you ask me.

6. When I was a kid I kept seeing signs like “Senior Discount” and “Seniors Eat Free on Sundays” or whatever. I thought the signs referred to seniors in high school. It took me awhile to realize it actually meant senior citizens.

7. I’m currently doing Invisalign (invisible braces) to straighten my teeth. They took some getting used to, and it’s slow-going, but I’m looking forward to the end results.

8. I’m almost done reading Breaking Dawn (4th book in the Twilight series)! I don’t know what I’m going to do myself when it’s over (cry!) but laundry really needs to be at the top of that list. It’s been a sad state of affairs in the G&D household lately. Eek!

You are so funny. I agree with you on the singing, but am not as nice as you on the staring at pulled over people. I think it’s time to invent a new tag – this one’s been going around a whole lot.

Another ENFJ… but I listen to NPR. Hmm. Must break out some good music in the car to sing to.

    1. The only time I’ll resist clapping is if it along to music– I have zero rhythm.
    2. I crouch, not sit. Public toilets are gross.
    3. Ha. Rock on, you are braver than I.
    4. I try to do that too. Try being the operative word.
    5. I’m an ISFJ, but I can’t retrieve career results, only that I am a “protector”.
    6. Ha! That’s too cute :)
    7. Braces are so worth it, I only wish I had had Invisalign!
    8. Must read these books ASAP!

Ditto to your second fact! And I’ve read that it’s actually better to sit than squat. I don’t remember why lol

I took the really extensive test in college that has about a billion questions on it and got ENFJ too. Then ever since I have consistently gotten the same results test after test. But it’s funny how 2% of the population must read your blog since so many of us on here are just that, haha. Maybe that’s why we all like many of the same things. It makes sense, I think.

In reference to #6…I was the same way. But the student discounts the first year of college are amazing!
