Mommy Kisses

May 5, 2010 By Dusty Rogers 34 Comments

Kate: 13 weeks

I reluctantly admit that kisses from Mommy are not something Kate has always enjoyed. When she was first born she’d scrunch up her little face whenever I planted one on her and have this reaction like, “Whoa, where did that come from?!?” But I just kept kissing away! I bet I kiss her fuzzy little head and cute little cheeks and belly and neck and eyes and nose and toes a hundred times a day.

I am nothing if not persistent.

Currently she’s somewhere between “get off me lady” and “what’s the point of this?” but I’m wearing her down. Soon she’ll be BEGGING for my kisses!

That’s right! You just keep planting them on her, eventually they just learn to live with it (my 4 yr old and 2 yr old have had to endure the same kind of “torture”). Rough life! :-)

Just wait they’ll beg for a kiss! Yesterday my 2 year old fell and when my husband went to kiss his “boo boo” he screamed, “no, let Mommy do it!” It was the highlight of my day.

How can you not kiss those cute baby cheeks?! She is a doll! The best part is when they can kiss you back, that will melt your heart!

    So precious!!!

Sometimes I look at my son and I can tell I’m annoying him, but I don’t care! I want my kisses! =)

What a lovely picture of the two of you!! Suddenly she looks ‘all growed up’ — I know you are going to cringe at me saying this, but she definitely doesn’t have that ‘newborn’ look anymore!!! She is so terribly cute!

Wait until she learned to kiss back… or something like a kiss. Then you will melt.

Love the picture, and completely understand. In fact, I do the same, but my 3-wk-old little guy doesn’t seem to mind it! But his 2.5-year-old sister sure protests mightily at the kisses and hugs I want to give her! :)

What a cutie!! Kate AND Mommy!
    Kate has beautiful eyes!!
I totally relate – now that the boys are running around on their own, I don’t kiss them as much as I used to (now only about 15 times a day), but when they were babies and mostly in my arms, I too, kissed them a hundred times a day!! It would be interesting to log # of kisses per day or year per age as they grow older!
