Valentine Tree

We don’t typically decorate for Valentine’s Day, but as I was looking at branches I had spray-painted white for Kate’s Frozen 5th Birthday Party (that I’m still editing pictures for – recap post is coming, promise!), I realized they’d have a great second life as a Valentine Tree!  I’m not entirely sure that a “Valentine Tree” is even a thing, but we enjoyed the Thankful Tree we made for Thanksgiving so much I figured we’d make it a thing!

To make, I took tree branches spray-painted white with Rust-Oleum’s 2X spray paint in white semi-gloss, and wrapped a few sections of the branches in red and pink yarn for pops of color.  Next, I printed off some of my favorite family photos on standard white copy paper.  I used a large heart punch to trim the photos, and also punched heart shapes out of pink and red decorate paper to glue on to the back of the photos.  Lastly, I used a mini hole puncher to punch a hole to tie the heart photos to the branches with baker’s twine.

This faux cherry blossom arrangement and decorative “XOXO” plaque (both from Target) are great decorative accents to our little Valentine Tree:

I also snagged this clear glass vase fro Target for $5 – total steal!
