You guys! We are moving into our house in ONE WEEK!! If there’s ever been a time for all caps, THIS. IS. IT.
Our house is 95% finished, and I’m all the way in love. Even though we haven’t moved in yet, it’s obvious we’re in a committed relationship, so I’m finding myself treating it like a new boyfriend’s place. Oh, you know, just leaving little items behind each time I visit – mostly for convenience, but also to make my mark.
Claim my space.
Basically the grown woman’s equivalent to peeing on a tree.
“Hello, House. You are MINE. Here’s a box of tampons in your cabinet to remind you. #truelovealways #dontforgetwhomadeyou”
(True story – G is actually a bigger culprit in this than I am.)
Okay, so some of you may be thinking, “What?? They just got windows, like, yesterday, and now they’re moving in?” This is the part where I shine a light on something you may not already know (unless you’re my friend Katie who’s internet savvy and Knows Things): “Blog Life” is often 2-3 months behind “Real Life.” (Except for the holidays when everybody’s 2-3 months ahead.)
Overall, our build has been super fast – only 4½ months from when we broke ground to completion – which has been equal parts amazing, exhausting, and head-spinning. In Real Life there are just a handful of things left to do, but in Blog Life, let’s jump back a couple of months to when our installation was being installed and pink walls never looked so good to me.
Kate’s bathtub was the first thing to be installed in the house. I’m not sure why it was installed so early, but it was so fun to see! The picture below shows the shower and toilet area of her bathroom, and the area where I’m standing to take the photo is where her sink and cabinetry will be located.
Next up? Exterior stone and siding!

Worse than a wooly sweater! I remember too, haha. I made sure not to touch it. Thank you so much for following along, Debbie!

Thank you, Michelle! 😀
It has to be so hard to wait to share all these photos. I don’t think I would have the restraint! My brother and his family move into their new home next week too. It is a great Thanksgiving for both of you! Yay!
How exciting, Pam! Best wishes to your brother and his family. It’s so nice to be able to move in just before the holidays. I hope they love their new home!
