My loves for the month of May:
1. Maybelline Mineral Power Foundation. I was introduced to this product while flipping through a recent issue of GLAMOUR magazine. Prior to this month I’d only worn foundation a handful of times in my life. However, as I wave goodbye to my 20s I’ve decided my skin could use a little extra help to look more “luminous” and “flawless”–promises that glossy magazine page was making to me. To seal the deal, they included a little sample of the liquid foundation. Once I slapped it on my skin I was sold. I went out and bought both the liquid and powder versions of the foundation the very next day. Granted I’m new to the world of foundation, but this stuff feels so smooth and great on my skin. And it looks fabulous, too!
2. Grey’s Anatomy–it’s good again! Don’t get me wrong, my love affair with Grey’s had been going strong since Season 1, Episode 1; however, after last season my eye was beginning to wander. But it’s BACK! And it is oh so good again! With Mer in therapy, Christina singing “Like a Virgin”, Izzie finally recognizing her deer CPR ridiculousness, and seeing the softer side of Alex (if that shower scene didn’t melt your heart you’re made of stone). Even Lexie–who was my sworn enemy when Derek first met her in the bar–is beginning to grow on me. And of course, the long awaited for Mer-Der reunion. Who could resist a houseplan drawn out on the grass with candles? Not this girl. Loved it. I loved it all. Thank you writers–the strike was worth it.
And if you can’t wait until this fall to get your Grey’s fix, check out the Grey’s Anatomy writer’s blog Grey Matter. Such a fabulous guilty pleasure!
3. And speaking of guilty pleasures, I need to give a shout out to my reality TV obsession–the latest of which being The Bachelorette which started this month. I love opening a bottle of wine and settling on couch to watch the show and rip on the contestants. Always makes for a great evening.
4. Last but not least is my newly found love of books on CD–it’s the only way I was able to make a 4 hour drive (each way!) to visit my younger sister Brittny earlier this month. I hate driving. And I especially hate long distance driving. So this time I stopped at my local library and rented a book on CD to listen to during the road trip. It took my mind off the driving, and before I knew it, I was there! I’ve decided from now on it’s a necessity for any drive over 2 hours.

I really want to try that mineral makeup; I’ve been a fan of mineral foundations in the past, but I have strayed . . .
I too love mineral foundations been using Bare Escentuals for years! Whoohoo, girl!
Anyways I wanted to tell you about an absolutely hilarious audiobook “Are you there vodka, it’s me, Chelsea” by Chelsea Handler. FRIGGEN hilarious! I listened to that the past week in my truck (everytime I drove)!
Also another good one is “Escape” by Carolyne Jessop.
I agree about Grey’s!! Totally worth the strike. I loved every minute of the last couple episodes.
Hmm…I need some new foundation. Does it come in super, super white? ‘Cause I’m the whitest person alive. And I agree Grey’s was worth the wait!
OMG Nicole, that book sounds hilarious! The name alone is cracking me up! I’ll def. have to check it out.
threeacres–I think so. It looked like their lightest shade was pretty pale.
