Turtleneck & Boots

November 10, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 23 Comments

I just love busting out my favorite fall clothes once the weather starts getting cooler. Turtlenecks, cardigans, sweaters, jackets, scarves–oh how I’ve missed you! But my absolute favorite fall wardrobe item has got to be knee-high boots. Love them!

Turtleneck: New York & Company
Jeans: Gap (regular jeans, worn with a maternity band)
Boots: Target
Jacket: Gap
Pregnancy: 28 weeks

What’s your favorite thing to wear once fall hits?

Do you still find a maternity band comfortable as far along as you are? I’ve never really liked mine… but the maternity jeans aren’t really working for me either!!! (I’m 18 weeks…)

    You look awesome!

I love cowneck sweaters. I use to hate them but now its what I am drawn to when I’m shopping. And knee hight boots are killer too!!!

I am SO impressed that you can still wear your normal pants but with a belly band. Mine are just waaaaay too small (I’m 28 weeks and I think I had to give them up at about 14 weeks ;-)).

I’m in desperate need of a winter jacket. Is this a maternity one you are wearing? It looks great.

I just got out my boots as well and combined with a kind of maternity dress/really long sweater and some tights, this is my favorite outfit for this winter :-)

    I love scarves, like woah!
And even though I bought a pair of skinny jeans (and then returned them) to wear with boots I have resigned myself to the fact that’s one trend I can’t do…..damn these plump, athletic thighs!

    Looking lovely as usual!

I bought a pair of tall boots last year and I have yet to wear them. I’m not sure what to wear them with. Maybe I need to buy some skirts or some skinny jeans? Hopefully I’ll get some inspiration from you.

    Have a great day!

I love knee high boots as well! I have about 4 pairs. Fall also means I can snuggle in my flannel pj’s and flannel sheets!

Scarves. Definitely. Hands down, my favorite fall item! I have a beautiful one I bought my cousin last year for Christmas from Etsy…. but, I ended up liking it so much, that I had to buy another one for her because I kept it for myself! HA!

blazers. I love them. I am especially loving the “boyfriend blazer” with a sassy scarf.

    Love the boots.

very lovely outfit. You look fantastic, you make pregnancy look so easy and fashionable. I must say (because I have no fashion sense what so ever) that fall means I get to bust out the hoodie sweatshirts–I have a very lax job that I get to totally dress down and I loooooove me a hoodie!!

    D-

I think you should totally have a contest on the closest guess to your delivery~~I am so betting you will go early because you are so athletic and, um, er, ah, full of belly??!! Don’t get me wrong, you look great–just a healthy looking bump going on :)

I’m a fan of cardigans with a big statement necklace. I like the wrap sweaters closed with a belt at the waist too. Love scarves, love boots, love it all!

    Thanks for your comments everyone!

@Ashley–The maternity band isn’t my favorite thing to wear, but it’ll do in a pinch (like when I haven’t done laundry, lol). You might want to try what Gap calls the “hidden panel” for maternity pants. Those were my favorite materntiy jean style earlier in my pregnancy (and I’m still wearing them now at 32 weeks).

@ashd–Do you have short hair? Just curious. I love cowl neck sweaters, but I have a tough time wearing them if my hair is shoulder length or longer (unless it’s in a ponytail). The feeling of my hair pooling in and around the collar drives me crazy! It’s not a “looks” thing, it’s a “feels” thing. Just wondering if you’ve had the same experience.

@The Johnsons–Well, not all of my normal pants still work, but luckily most of them do! This jacket is a regular jacket; not maternity. I can get the top buttons buttonned, but not the bottoms, so I just wear it open. I’m hoping to tough it out and get away w/not needing a maternity jacket for the next 8 weeks. Here’s to hoping!

@Anonymous–I got these boots a couple of years ago. And they were a steal–I believe they were only $20! I liked them so much I also got them in brown faux suede.

@Melissa–I’ve been slacking on the nursery lately. I don’t think I’ll ever finish!! I plan to give it a big push this weekend, so we’ll see!

    @Lena–Oooh, flannel pjs! Good one!

@Anonymous–Your comment made me lol! Yep, there’s no denying it that I have one big ol’ belly bump! My friend Jill is due in a week and we recently measured our bellies, and mine is 1″ bigger than hers–and I’m not due for another 2 months! It’s crazy! But for some reason I think Baby G&D will either be right on time or late. But I guess only time will tell!

@blondie–Oooh, I love me some argyle too. Nice one!
