Pregnancy: Week 37

December 22, 2009 By Dusty Rogers 31 Comments

December 14-20
Bring on this baby! At 37 weeks she is now full term, and I’m pretty sure we’re ready for her! G and I raided the baby aisles and got all the rest of the things we need before our daughter arrives–bottles, bibs, Boppy covers, burp cloths–you name it, we came home with it. After 3 hours I am now a master navigator of Babies R Us. And after another hour (and a few choice words) G now holds an engineering degree in Pack N Play assembly. Our house is slowly being taken over by pastel, musical, vibrating baby stuff which is going to be a bit of an adjustment–but we’re ready for it!

The beginning of a whole new era.

This may be the start of one era, but the first time baby G smacks her lip on that hard coffee table or end table and “furniture bumpers” will start yet another era!! Good luck~~luckily there are plenty of stores that are all stocked up for the necessities of mother and fatherhood in case you did miss something. I hope G has been doing some more practice diaper changes since the birthing classes, LOL. Enjoy sleeping a few full nights over the next week or two, they may be the last you get for a few months. Being a mom changes you on the inside and out and may motherhood bless you with nothing but the best. Happy Holiday’s, Congrats and here’s to a speedy delivery and recovery.

OK……….so I know it’s been awhile for me but what the heck are bobby covers?

And you may just get lucky like I did…..my daughter slept minimum of 6 hours a night before 2 months. If it wasn’t for her arms hitting the sides of the basinet (she did not like being swaddled)…..I would have gotten PLENTY of sleep.

So here’s hoping you have the same luck (in fact I am wishing it for you)!!

    Merry Christmas!

Aren’t they called Boppys and not Bobbys? I could be wrong- “I don’t know nothing about birthin’ no babies”

Wait till she’s moving and suddenly your desigin tastes goes from 64 throw pillows to 64 toys strewn about the place!

We have that P&P! It’s fabulous!

I’ve just given up at this point. Our house is where Babies R Us stuff goes to die. And how people fit stuff for two kids? I HAVE NO IDEA.

A new era, indeed. A cluttered one.

LizzieBeth–thanks for the catch! I just edited it to say Boppy, lol!

Nursery pics are coming soon–I promise! It’s all finished (woohoo!) and at this point I’m just waiting for a somewhat sunny day to take pictures. It’s a very tough room to photograph!

Looks good in there! Don’t forget to aim that baby away from the TV. You don’t want her to get all ADD on you.

    I’m so excited for you!

Congrats on hitting 37 weeks. It seems like just yesterday you announced to the blog world that you and G were expecting a baby.

I also wanted to say thanks for you Baby Bargains book recommendation. I was totally overwhelmed with registering the first time we went out. I picked up the book before leaving the store, and it helped tremendously. It was really nice to have some research under my belt before I put the big important stuff on the registry.

I hope the next 3 weeks treat you well, and motherhood is everything you imagined!

Ah! And the baby gear enters the living room – definite proof that a little one is in the picture!

I hope that you enjoy the last days before she arrives and that after a few days with her, you won’t be able to remember a time without her. :)

PS – We’re not worried about the lighting in the nursery :)

LADY. You are KILLING me withholding nursery pictures. I die a little each day when I don’t see them. Seriously. Time is going by so so slowly. I think I’m dead.

Love you and hope you’re taking care :)

HAHAHA, I love how you matched your living room with the baby stuff. Awesome. If I have 1/2 as nice a looking living room in a few years, I hope I can pull off the same stunt -coordinating house and baby accessories.

We did the same thing as you – tried to match any baby stuff that would live outside her room to the rest of our house. We were successful too – except for the playmat. Oh well – can’t wait to see the nursery pictures and see baby G&D!!
