The weather in Wisconsin has been unseasonably warm lately which feels lovely, but I’m not quite ready for it.
I have nothing to wear!
How is this even possible? I have a closet full of clothes! (Well…two closets, actually.) And a dresser full of clothes! (Well…two dressers, actually.) Yet I open drawers and doors, and stare at cotton, colors, and cardigans, and…
and…
I’ve got nothing.
Nothing inspires me, nothing jumps out at me, nothing looks even remotely appealing, and I can’t help but wonder who the hell picked out–and actually purchased!–all of these crappy boring clothes? (Certainly not me!) Who stole all of my awesome, gotta-have-it-so-badly-I-would’ve-paid-full-price-for-it clothes? (Was it you?!)
WHAT THE HELL DID I EVEN WEAR LAST SPRING?!
I’m having a crisis.
A mid-March crisis.

I am in the same situation. I have like 4 cute work dresses and everything else is awful. I guess we just quit buying things for ourselves when our babies were born, and now everything is out of style/our tastes have changed?!
I think the same thing every day when I get dressed, but because I’m 1/2 way through my 2nd pregnancy and nothing fits (I “popped” much sooner this time around!). I don’t want to spend much $$ on new maternity items since this may be our last child. However, I don’t want to hate my wardrobe for the next 4 months either! What’s a mom to do?!
I’ll totally shop for us, if you split the booty with me! 😉 I’m feeling the same! Where’s the color and the fun?
Thank goodness you said it so I didn’t have to! I swear, I get up every morning, open the closet door and attempt to look through what’s in there; nothing but a bunch of frumpy clothes that my grandma wouldn’t even touch. What the hell did I wear last spring!? But even better, what was I wearing all summer? &Under my cardigan’s all winter!?
check out Nicole’s style posts over at Making It Lovely. that girl has some great outfit ideas!
Girl, I hear that. Last summer I was pregnant, and this summer I can’t squeeze these G.D. milk jugs into anything!
..don’t even get me started about bathing suits. Ugh.

Hi there! Check out my blog. I post outfit ideas daily. All you need are some colored jeans and a pastel skirt and you’ll be “caught up” fashion-wise.

I have that problem all of the time!! Especially now that I have a 5 month old. Talk about nothing to wear! yikes.
I think you’re right, Ginger!
@Anonymous–Ugh. Yes, you’re definitely in a tricky spot. Check out my Maternity Fashion Overview post if you haven’t already done so–you may find it helpful. Pinterest may also be a good place to get some maternity fashion ideas. Good luck to you!
@Leah–That would be fabulous! I’ve always wanted a personal shopper! 😉
@Brittany–I hear ya, sister. I don’t even want to talk about the frumpiness I threw together this morning. Not good. I need to put a little effort into picking my outfit out the night before when I have a little bit more energy and wine in me.
@Anonymous–Thank you for the recommendation; I’ll be sure to check her out!
@LizzieBeth–Ugh, I remember the milk jug situation all too vividly. You get a free pass this summer, babe. Where whatever the hell you want and flip off anyone who gives you the side-eye.
Thanks for the tips Heather! I’ve been on the lookout for red skinnies so I hope to be adding that to my wardrobe soon. ::fingerscrossed::
modmamas–You also get a free pass in my opinion! When Kate was 5 months old my only criteria for clothes is that they had to be (fairly) spit-up free and (fairly) unwrinkled, lol!
I hear you about the wardrobe! My son just turned 2 and I think just about everything in my closet is black or grey, either crew neck or v neck!
Oh yes, I can certainly relate to that, Kailee! For the longest time the only things in my closer were black, gray, and navy blue!
Okay, so I felt that way AAAAAAALLLL winter (I’m a Wisconsin girl too, so winter is a brutal time to feel like just going without clothes), and so I finally got out and restocked my winter wardrobe. The next day was like hellooooo Summer! and I haven’t had much of a chance to utilize my warm wardrobe since. Come next winter I should be pretty happy with the upgrade; I hope.
I hear ya, britt! This weather is totally messing with me. A few months ago I bought this adorable fuchsia trench that I was saving for chilly spring days, but it appears we have gone straight to summer! I hope you’re able to get at least a little wear out of those winter clothes yet this season, girl!
