- Blogging on the sofa–a typical nightly scene in the G&D household.
- My T-shirt quilt. This is one of my favorite possessions and is pretty much on the couch with me at all times. My mom made me this quilt as a surprise high school graduation gift. She slowly hoarded T-shirts from sports I’d played, camps I’d went to, and other extra-curricular activities I’d done while growing up, and made them into this quilt. My guests then signed it in permanent marker at my graduation party, writing little notes and well wishes. Not only does it hold immense sentimental value–it’s also the most comfortable quilt ever! So comfortable, in fact, that G tries to sneak it from me when I’m not looking. After a few years of that, I finally had my mom make him a T-shirt quilt of his own this past Christmas, so now we each have one!
- Three things I like to keep close at hand–a glass of wine, my favorite Nerds candy, and the TiVo remote.
- My GAP cropped ankle-zip jeans don’t look quite so cute with my knee-high boots off.
- I keep the extra leaves for my dining room table under the sofa. Here you can see one peeking out.
- My beloved Nike cross-trainers. At the time this picture was taken, those shoes had been sitting in that very spot for about 2 weeks. Completely unused.
- Our poor carpet, which is now stained beyond repair because Chase–our diva greyhound–has a habit of going to her food dish, putting kibble in her mouth, and then walking into the living room to empty the kibble onto our formerly white carpet, where she then eats (almost) all of it–leaving just enough little kibble crumbs behind to drive us nuts.
So that’s a little peak at “real life” for all my fellow voyeurs out there!

Great idea for a post. My cross-trainers are neglected too.

Cute post!
I love the simplicity of this post. It is good to know others out there are doing to the same things! This is what my “real life” is very similar to also; lap top in lap, lounging on the couch, wine and remote by my side, and my Nike’s on the floor.
I love the Real Life G&D. Would love it more if I were next to you – but the glass of wine would be in my hand, I don’t let those things out of my grasp.
I love the t-shirt quilt, great idea! I was going to make B one with all of our fraternity and sorority mixer shirts, but never did. Maybe I should reconsider.
Love the Nikes!
love it! our cats do the same thing as your greyhound!
You are ridiculously cute even lounging around on the weekend.
Love it! Especially the unused cross trainers and the dining room table leaf.
Love it! I may steal this idea and do my own version of my real life!
Now we know you’re not a Stepford! LOL.
Love this post!!
ahh the good life. Seems similar to my nights (minus the wine for now…ohhhh how I miss wine!!!)
Gotta love the nerds!
It’s nice to hear that your greyhound seems to take her time eating her food – at least enough to carry it somewhere (not so nice to hear that your carpet suffers from it!). Our greyhound scarfs down her food like it’s running away. Sometimes, i can actually hear the kibble scream…
Love this post!
This is such a cute post. I love that you shared your ankle length jeans minus the boots, because we all have secrets like that which we usually keep to ourselves at home.
Also, I have two dogs. One eats just like yours; the other is a polar opposite, he inhales his food in about 0.4 seconds.
That sounds like my kinda party – wine & nerds?! rocking in my stockings.
Love it. I’ve gotta a t-shirt quilt too. And, I think this is the first I noticed but we have the same couch!
Not gonna lie – your real life looks pretty great! And very similar to mine, just with champagne instead of red wine & the tennis shoes are very much hidden away – out of sight, out of mind!
Great post! The secrets of G&D
How can you manage to still look cute in comfy clothes on the couch??? Unbelievable.
Love the post. So funny and you’re too cute.
Not to sound like a broken record or a copycat, but LOVE this post! Very similar to me- laptop, couch, remote, etc!
love the real life G&D! I like this idea for a post.. Mine is very similar except I usually have sweet tea instead of wine and I’m in a chair..
I may do this one day….
Only thing missing is ME!
Mmm… nerds. Loved the inside scoop!
This is really fun! I might have to do one, too.
