September 21-27
This week our baby’s lungs are continuing to develop, getting her ready for breathing–and wailing. To help with all that breathing and wailing, her teeny little nostrils are starting to open up and her vocal chords are on their way toward saying her first words–which will of course be, “Thank you for giving me life; you’re the best parents ever.”
Now that our baby can hear sounds outside the womb, I’ve been trying hard to curb the curse words, while G has introduced her to a little belly music. He downloaded some songs on his iPod to play for her, starting with “Build Me Up Buttercup” by The Foundations (you know–that song they play at the end of “There’s Something About Mary”). Then he said, “I thought she might like some Miley,” and the latest Miley Cyrus song started blasting through to my womb. It was so adorable! And I’m pretty sure she was a fan of all the songs her daddy played for her.
Week 25 was certainly an eventful one. In addition to turning 30, I also flew to Alabama to visit friends who surprised me with my first baby shower! That’s a lot of action for this mama-to-be, but it was totally worth it for one of the most memorable weeks ever. More details and pictures to come–stay tuned!

Aw, that’s nice of your friends!
I’m jealous that you’ve been getting out with the girls so much lately. How are the Whores, er, I mean how was the Nest reunion?
Enjoy!
How adorable!
I can’t wait to see what you got from the baby shower! What colors/decor are you using for the babies room? Did I miss that post?
My sister in law is due in October and ordered Pottery Barn Kids “Katie” pattern. I love the purple, brown and green together.

Aww.
I bet your baby is having a splendid time in your womb.
Curbing curse words? Lol, I do that too. Reminds me of that yotube video where that kid tries to say ‘truck’ but it turns out well, you know. Hehe.
Wonderful blog btw, just recently came across it.
How sweet of the girls to throw you a shower!
Yay for 25 weeks! She’ll be here before you know it.

@LizzieBeth–I haven’t shared my nursery ideas yet, and I think at this point I’m just going to wait until the room is finished and do a big reveal all in one post. I’m hoping I’ll have it all done by the end of this month, so stay tuned! And congrats to your sister-in-law!
