A few weeks ago while G was driving with Kate in the backseat and Kate exclaimed, “I know a good job for me!”
“Oh yeah?” G replied. “What’s the pay?”
“My job can be to drive around and find all the pretty things and take pictures of it,” Kate declared.
It may not pay well, but it sounds pretty awesome to me! Kate has always been a fan of pretty things – starting with the first time she fell in love with a Christmas tree.
She decorated her first Christmas tree when she was just shy of three years old and now it’s a yearly tradition. We set up two trees in our house and Kate goes to town, decorating hers all on her own. In fact, I should probably just give up on decorating our other tree because Kate has claimed all the ornaments in our house (“except the gold ones”) for herself, but I don’t mind. She enjoys decorating her tree so much and does a wonderful job!

The other day I informed Kate that I hung a princess ornament that had been sitting on the coffee table back onto her tree and her eyes widened with worry. “Um. Can you please take it off? Because I don’t think you know where it goes.”
She has a system, you see.
I love the personality our fun little girl injects into our holiday decor! Through the years she’s inspired me to do the same, and today I’m sharing tips on how you can show off some personal flair while you’re decking the halls. So fun! We have a tree just for our kiddos too.
Isn’t it so great to see them get so into it? Totally adds to the Christmas spirit! Thank you, Ashley!
