Finishing Up The Kitchen

Finishing Up The Kitchen

Finishing up the history of our kitchen leads us to the eat-in part of the kitchen. When we moved in there was a chandelier (the one threatening to decapitate G) in the center of the space and vertical blinds on the sliding doors leading out to the deck (pictured below). Both had to go. The

My Oil of Olay Must Be Working

April 20, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 4 Comments

I’ve never had an issue with my age–in fact, I’ve embraced it. Every birthday is another year closer to 30–an age I can’t wait to be (I’m 28 now). I look forward to being in my 30s as I’ve decided by then I’ll surely be an adult and no longer feel odd referring to myself

Vegas, 4 Aces, & Kate Spade

April 20, 2008 By Dusty Rogers 1 Comment

Time to deviate a bit from home-related posts to share a story about another love in my life–handbags. About a month ago G’s parents took us on a fabulous family vacation to Vegas and we all had a blast! G was the golden boy the entire trip—he couldn’t lose. Our first night there he won

A Lot of Wine Went Into This Kitchen

This is how our kitchen looked when we first moved in: I have to admit–the kitchen is what sold me on this house. Some paint and accessories and that’s it!

64 Throw Pillows & Only 1 Living Room

Once again we had a blank slate to work with when it came to our living room. This “before” picture shows the living room in the foreground, the dining room in the background, and the arch separating the two spaces. Below is my first draft of our living room–I painted the arch a medium green

Anatomy of Our Dining Room

Anatomy of Our Dining Room

Our dining room has been a work in progress over the past two years. The picture above is how it looks today, but originally it was a blank slate. First we changed out the light fixture from the semi-flush mount to a brushed nickel chandelier that was in the eat-in kitchen threatening to decapitate my
