There was so much to celebrate and be thankful for in November!
November 2: Hello, hat weather!
November 7: After being out of town on business for almost a week, Kate and I decided to surprise G at the airport when he returned. Kate waited at the bottom of the escalator where he would appear, holding a sign that said “Daddy.” It was such a fun surprise!
November 8: G’s birthday!
November 11: Our first snowfall! I love how much Kate loves the snow.
November 13: Kate got the “big girl” treatment at our hair salon on this day, getting her first pre-haircut shampoo. She wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but in the end she decided she liked it. (Gotta love that scalp massage.)
November 17: G loves taking Kate to UW Women’s volleyball and basketball games. There’s a lot of men’s football, basketball and baseball on in our house and he likes her to see strong female athletes as well. One of the many things that makes him such an amazing dad!
November 22: We had a fun night at Pump It Up celebrating my friend Katie’s daughter Ruby’s 5th birthday. After nearly 2 hours of bouncy house fun all the kids got balloon hats to take home. (Kate’s in the upper left corner cracking me up in one of the biggest ones.)
November 23: Kate and I were so excited to bust out the Christmas decor a little early this year to get ready for the Hometalk for the Holiday’s campaign featuring easy DIY holiday decor ideas.
November 24: On the set of WISN Channel 12 for a live TV appearance to promote Hometalk’s Hometalk for the Holidays campaign! You can see the clip from my appearance HERE. I was so nervous, but also so thrilled and honored to do it!
November 27: On this day I was moved to tears to receive this surprise gift from a reader named Amber. One of the many things I’m thankful for this holiday season is all of you wonderful people who take time out of your busy lives to take a peek into mine. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
November 28: Getting up close and personal with turkeys on Thanksgiving Day.
November 29: I put up our family Christmas tree the evening of Thanksgiving after Kate went to bed and had so much fun surprising her with it in the morning when she woke up! Later that day we put up Kate’s Christmas tree and she is IN LOVE with decorating it! This is without question my favorite time of year.
I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful and festive start to your December!

Kate is just too cute! Glad she enjoyed her pampering and wasn’t scared.

Thank you so much, Heidi!
Gotta love the shampoo at the hair salon; in fact, my stylist is apparently so good at the scalp massage she’s dubbed it a poo-gasm. 😉 (I’ll let you decide if you want to share that with Kate.)
You were great on TV!! Couldn’t tell you were nervous at all. I, on the otherhand, would’ve pissed my pants.
P.S. – totally random question, but where do you find clothes for Kate?
Poo-gasm? Too funny, lol!
Thank you so much for the compliment, Carla! I was so nervous, but hoping I’ll be less so next time. #fingerscrossed
I get most of Kate’s clothes from the clearance rack at Target, Old Navy and Gap. I try to shop a year ahead when clothes go out of season and get marked down. (And for Old Navy and Gap I wait to shop until I get an additional 30-40% off clearance.) I wish I had the time and patience to shop consignment! Some of my friends do and they always find the cutest stuff for nothing! How about you? Got any favorite spots?
