Thinking about breaking up on Valentine’s Day? Maybe you should!
With your CFL, that is.
GE – makers of the world’s best bulbs – sent me this “CFL Breakup Kit” and I thought it was too cute not to share!
We haven’t gotten to the lighting portion of the ATG&D Dream Home series yet, but here’s a little something I’m excited to tell you about – nearly our entire home is lit by GE bulbs and they make our house look AMAZING at night! I’ll get into more details when we get to lighting talk, but I really became obsessed with the differences between bulb brands, brightness, and color cast when it came time to figure out the lighting plan for our new home. I just really like a lot of light. And at night I like it to look as crisp, clean, and natural as possible (no orange or brown hues dulling the room or blue casts giving me a headache).
I studied every bulb demo I could find in stores, purchased multiple brands to take home and test out, and even visited my electrician’s house so he could show me real life examples of different bulbs in his home.
Every single time, GE was the winner.
They provided the brightest, cleanest light output, and looked the best in person and in photographs. Okay, I’m going on and on now (told you I was obsessed); time to get back to the point – breaking up with your CFLs.
They were great while they lasted but now there’s a much better alternative on the market.
Have you met GE’s LED Bright Stik?

GE Bright Stik – the new shape of bulbs.
It’s got the long life and low energy benefits you expect from an LED, in a great sleek shape. It lasts 50% longer than CFLs and uses 20% less energy. (Which equals savings on your electric bill.) Its slim shape means it can fit in more spots and isn’t as fragile as those CFL coils we’ve all had shatter on us. And – one of my favorite aspects – when you hit your light switch this bulb lights up instantly! No more lighting delay or waiting for the bulb to get to its full brightness.
Breaking up this Valentine’s Day isn’t hard to do thanks to GE’s LED Bright Stik.

(I should mention, in case you’re curious, that I am thrilled to partner with GE for our ATG&D Dream Home, however, this is not a sponsored post. They just sent me this cute little box with no strings attached and I a.) thought it was cute, and b.) am obsessed with GE bulbs, so I decided to share it with you all. Enjoy your new Bright Stik!)
I’m slowing converting over to LEDs as the CFLs die (now I’m sad they last so long!) I’ve found Cree’s are good, Sylvania is ok, and up&up’s stink (though normally I love Target’s brand for almost anything). Would you consider doing a recap of the different brands to save me (and others, I’m sure) some research? I, too, love light and prefer bright yet soft, natural hues to the electric blue I’ve gotten in many CFLs.
