Kate: 17 Months The language explosion is in full effect as Kate continues to talk up a storm! I’ve been writing her words down on a Post-It when we hear them, and that sucker is covered from front to back. I can hardly keep up with her! Here are the ones I managed to capture
Apple Plum Bars
One of Kate’s favorite snacks are these apple plum bars. I started making them for her when she was just beginning solid foods. They’re soft enough that they make a great finger food, and delicious enough that the adults don’t mind finishing up the leftovers–on the rare occasion that there are any! Ingredients 5 T.
2011 Resolutions Check-In
Time for a mid-year 2011 resolutions check-in! Although technically the year is already more than halfway over and this post should have been written six weeks ago…which leads me to my first resolution for 2011: #1. Be on time. As you can see, I haven’t exactly knocked this one out of the park. Although really
That’s What He Said
“I used to think I was invincible. Then I had a kid.” Said by G, who used to never get sick…but now catches every other thing Kate brings home from daycare.
Things Loved in July
1. Crazy Stupid Love I crazy, stupidly, loved this movie. The characters were all fantastic, I loved all the storylines, and I laughed so hard and enjoyed it so much that at one point during the movie I actually started applauding. Things Loved in June
1. Fresh basil. I’m trying my hand at growing some of my own herbs this summer and I’m loving it! Instead of doing planters filled with flowers on our back deck, I have pots filled with basil, oregano, and parsley and they are getting more attention than any of my potted flowers ever did! The
Fourth of July Weekend
G and I had our 6th annual Fourth of July party over the weekend, and it was our best one yet! We had perfect weather and 50 people in attendance for lots of fun, food, and fireworks! Pinwheel centerpiece, and buckets of sunscreen, bug spray, and goodies for the kids. Kate: 17 Months Taylor (14 months) with her parents
Weekend Wear
I’ve always hated shorts. Unless I was going for a run or at the gym I wouldn’t be caught dead in them. I prefer wearing skirts or dresses on hot summer days, but they’re not a very practical choice now when I’m out running errands with Kate. Call me crazy, but I’m not exactly interested
